Fresh Particulars Emerge About the Finding of the Reiner Couple's Remains

New information has come to light about the untimely demises of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their residence property on Sunday.

A Initial Report

As detailed in an account citing a person close to the family, a practitioner arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the residence. The practitioner then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

Upon entering the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Following this, paramedics discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently being held without bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source challenged several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.

Furthermore pushed back against published claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement includes reports of alleged "erratic" behavior by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. While the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that suggestions of a "heated argument" between the two were untrue.

Investigation Timeline

Per law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
