Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global break, however can the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.
In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' new album, the new release, is available on Friday.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football team," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this fixture will be quite close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's sole away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.
So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.
A family member advised me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.
They have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.
Their display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.
However I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's home record, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
